Meet the Owner
Lucie Gillespie
Lucie is an actress and writer from St. Clair County, Michigan with a love for performance art and storytelling. After a decade working in the world of independent film, Lucie felt her heart calling her back to her roots - theatre. Teatro di Vita, meaning "Theatre of Life " in Italian, was born in the winter of 2022 with the intention of bringing a diverse group of artists together to perform as nomads, ushering meaningful theatrical experiences into a variety of community settings. In recent years, Lucie has been seen portraying her favorite comedic character, Lucy Ricardo, in Teatro's nostalgic stage show, A Tribute to the Ricardos. She is best known for her work with Lunar Flame Pictures on dramatic narrative films thematically centered around finding the light in the darkness. Lucie has found success as a writer with her short script “Akoma” winning the Grand Prize at the Detroit Channel Four Film Challenge as well as the Festival Choice Award at Trinity International Film Festival. She holds a deep love of method acting and is trained under Strasberg’s Method at Goteri Creative Arts in Ferndale and holds a film production certificate from the Motion Picture Institute in Troy. By day, Lucie is also an RN, working the last 10 years in hospice and elderly care.
